The Bucktown 5k course highlights the historic neighborhood’s biggest attractions. We hold our races to the highest quality standards, from start to finish, course design and accuracy, emergency medical plans that exceed industry standards all in the name of your safety. Please note that although we’ll try our best to avoid it, the course and start time is subject to change.

Kids Dash

A little dash of something sweet — A Kid’s Dash! After you sign up for the Bucktown 5k, register your kiddos for the Kid’s Dash!

Children 3 and under: 20-yard dash

4-7 years old: 50-yard dash

8-10 years old: 100-yard dash

After Race

The finish line awaits! After your 5k, showcase your medal, refresh with sweet donuts, and refuel with post-race snacks! Our favorite part? Coming together not only as a family, but as a whole neighborhood, Bucktown style.

Packet Pickup Info

Come pick up your race day packet, which includes a race day bib and goodie bag. If you can’t make it to the Packet Pickup, don’t fret; you’re welcome to send a friend or family member to pick up your race day necessities — as long as they come armed with a copy of everyone’s registration confirmation. Five packets per person max, please! If you’re picking up packets for other people, please be sure to let them know that you’ve done so! Please remember that there is no race day packet pickup. 
Please note: we are unable to mail out packets after the packet mailing deadline has passed. Your race shirt must be picked up at the pre-race packet pickup.

Parking & Transit Information

There is limited street parking available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Bucktown neighborhood. We highly encourage taking public transit, or carpooling or biking to the event. There will be thousands of participants, volunteers, and spectators on site race morning. Please plan for heavy traffic and allow ample time to check your gear and get into your corral.

Results and Timing

The Bucktown 5k is an officially timed event using a disposable chip timing system. You’ll see timing clocks along the USATF-certified course, as well as at the finish line. Results will stream live online in real-time, so you and your fans can check your time right after crossing the finish line.

Age group awards will be awarded to the top male and female in the following categories: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39,40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84 and 85 & Over.

We do our best to capture great photos of everyone on race day, but we need your help! To make sure we’re able to accurately tag your pictures, wear your bib on the front of your body, and make sure it isn’t covered by clothing, race belts, etc.

What are the AWD (athletes with disabilities) guidelines and event rules? 

Ventures Endurance happily welcomes all athletes to participate in our events. Athletes with Disabilities (AWD) include, but are not limited to the flowing athletes, Blade Runners, Visually Impaired Runners, Adaptive / Guided Runners, Pushed Athletes, Push Rim, Racing Chair and Hand Cycles.
To participate as an AWD athlete you must notify the Race Director of your participation a minimum of 20 days in advance. This allows our staff to ensure the safety and security of each athlete on the course prepare the ES (early starters) corral for athletes.
